Dear Cosmic power - Any statement you make can be used against you in a court of law unless you were not properly advised of your Miranda rights after the arrest. The Miranda Rights must be read in situations of custodial interrogation so if you made the statement prior to arrest or after you were Mirandized then the statement can be used. Private property has nothing to do with it.
