Hello XXXXXXXX,
Trespassing would require that the person coming to the house, knew that he/she was unwelcome and uninvited. In other words, a person needs to have warning not to come on to someone's property before they could actually be charged with trespassing. If I had a flat tire and walked up to someone's door to knock on it and ask for help, it would not be trespassing, because I had no knowledge that I was unwelcome.
It rises to a higher level of a crime, when a person is not only trespassing, but with the intent to commit a crime, then it is called criminal trespass or something similar.
