What do the markings L 1/10 2 k g on old eyeglasses mean

Markings are inside the nose bridge of an old lorgnette (19th century woman's glasses on a long chain). I think that they must have something to do with the metal used and, possibly, the maker.

Also, the long chain is worn around the neck, sometimes coming together and ending in a single chain, coming down from the neck loop to the glasses. The glasses usually fold together and, at times, into the handle. The markings could easily appear on pince nez glasses, as well, etc., in my opinion. However, I have no idea what they mean, except that the "L" may be the maker and the 1/10 2 k g may mean gold filled. I don't care about the maker. I just want to know what metal (base metal, gold filled, 14k, etc.) the eyeglass frames are made of.

Reply to Customer (name blocked for privacy)'s Post: They're probably 19th century because they look like they were made during that period. I have no proof that they were.

L is the size of the glasses.  In this case, they would be size large.

1/10 is the prescription for the lenses.

2 kg is probably 12 kg - you just might not be able to read it.  This means that the glasses are 12 karat gold filled.
