Question

On replacement upper ball joints for a 1995 Chevy S-10 4x4 pickup. How do I keep the boot in place? I have tried the boot retainer on the top and bottom of the "A" arm, and the boot still pops out?

Answer

The replacement upper ball joint is mounted underneath the upper control arm, the boot is then placed on the ball joint, and then there is a sheet metal boot retainer that is plaed over the boot to hold it in place. The bolts that hold teh ball joint to the arm also pass through the boot retainer to hold it in place. If you do not have 3 separate parts in the box, then the ball joint you got is missing something. You may want to take it back to teh parts supplier and exchange it for one with all of the pieces...
