Thanks for using justanswer. Most states do not require a separate application in order to be recoginized as an exempt organization at the state level, but New York is among those that do have a separate form. It is only a few pages, so its not nearly as complicated as the forms you filed out for the Federal Government. I have pasted the link to this form for your convenience.
