Answer

Hello I'm Chris a Ford Certified Engine Specialist.

Thanks for asking your question. I am eager to get your vehicle back up and running correct, I am here to help you out for a small fee far less than a dealership, so if this information is of aid PLEASE PRESS ACCEPT and help me out financially. Please reply if further discussion is needed.

The best maintenance you can do for this engine is an oil and filter change every 3k miles. But ford says every 5k is ok. Your vehicle hods 6 qts after a filter and crankcase drain. The vehicle may not be showing low. It takes a long time like an hour for all the oil to drain back to the bottom of the engine. So let it sit on level ground overnight than check the oil and see what it says the level is.
