X-XXXXXXX,
If you would have trouble breathing, wheezing or shortness of breath, swelling on your face, tight feeling in throat, weakness, or blue coloring call 911 immediately and get to an emergency room. These could be signs of anaphylaxis reaction and be life threatening.
Otherwise remove a stinger if one is present (you can scrape back of credit card across the stinger). Do not use tweezers(this could increase amount of venom released). Wash the area very good with soap and water. Put ice on the site of bite for 10 minutes and off for 10 minutes. You could use Benadryl topical gel for the itch. Watch for signs of infection (swelling, pain or increased redness). If these occur see your doctor to seek treatment as soon as possible. Do not apply a tourniquet, take stimulants, aspirin or other pain medication unless your doctor prescribes it.
