You should be able to if the voltage in the systems is the same. Just don't stay on the starter too long at a time or you will fry it because you have so much more amperage in the car battery than the bike battery, the starter could get hot faster than normal, so just remember to not grind on it for extended periods when you try to start it.

No, you can not safely do this without damaging the battery in the motorcycle. As Bob said the car/truck battery has far too many amps for that motorcycle battery you will fry the plates in the bike's battery. I see this all the time.

I do agree with that statement, which is another reason I said not to stay on the starter too long. He is correct about the battery cells, but at the same time I have done this in the past. While not a recommended way to do things, in an emergency it may be all a person has to work with at the moment. Thanks, Bob
