Hello. Unfortunately, the only help I can give you it to help you stop wasting your time. A burn such as this is next to impossible to get out, even if the material was cotton. It's highly unlikely you will get it out of polyester. When these materials get hot enough to burn, some of the material has melted. You might try some baking soda and water paste and a scrub brush to the area to remove the discoloration if it's not a large, bad burn . But, the melted fibers will still be there, making a stiff spot. About the only other way to save the shorts is if the burn mark is in a spot where you can cover it up, for example with a cute patch or something similar. Otherwise, you will have to give up on the shorts for other than knock around the house wear. All of the man made material are very touchy when it comes to how much heat they can handle.
