Diagnosing appliance problems can often be difficult. We rely on information provided to us by the customers. There are several things that could cause this problem, but when you said the your husband moved the drum and it started was some very good information. Either the switch on the door is defective or the motor is causing the problem. My bet would be the motor. The buzz is actually the motor buzzing. Replacement of the motor is a DYI project if you have mechanical skills. The motor retails for about $119 and a appliance repair shop will normally charge at least that much for labor. If it were mine I would fix it, but that is something you will have to decide.
