Thank you for asking your question on Just Answer. Yes it is possible to reseed over sod but I would not recommend it at this time. Spring is the best time to do any lawn restoration. You may find with proper watering that your lawn will rejuvenate itself. The heat and lack of rain has been a problem with lawns in your area. I would suggest that you wait until spring to see how your lawn returns. Reseeding may not be necessary and the weather will be more suited for sowing grass if it is needed.
