How much assist do you have???

Where did you get pump??
The proper way to diagnose would be with a pressure guage but with the old pump loosing its impellor, that damage probably contaminated system causing an internal eak inside steering gear. You also need to flush all the old fluid out as to not contaminate new gear. If you need removal instruction let me know
If this has helped hit ACCEPT.....BONUSES AND POSITIVE FEEDBACK WELCOMED

You may try a tool rental store. The one in the article is a chrysler tool. You need a hydraulic pressure gage that must read up to 2000 psi. you may have to make up the adapters to fit pump. Ask autozone if they have a hydraulic gage also ask for some one who is familar with car repair and explain you needs....some of those people are wal-mart rejects sssshhhhh
