Question

I have a 2000 Sebring convertible(65K miles), and have been pleased with it. I've had no problems. However, the "service engine" light came on. I had the oil changed, nothing. I drove to one shop, they replaced the fuel injector. Then it would not start. It was towed to a Chrysler dealer. They worked on it and said it took 20 hours to diagnose it as a faulty distributor that disintegrated inside. It was a factory original. The cost is $1894. Is it reasonable to take that long to diagnose, then fix? Is this a reasonable price? How can I negotiate a lower price?

Haven't paid the bill yet. Here's something else. Another customer backed into it at the shop and dented it, she say she'll pay damages when I can ever get it to a body shop.
