Question

My boyfriend recently got arrested for simple battery and carrying a concealed weapon. Although he was guilty of carrying the concealed weapon, which were brass knuckles he carried around for protection.. although illegal. He was not however; guilty of the simple battery. The young man told the police atleast three times that my boyfriend was not the one who hit him. After several minutes of badgering and several questions the boy finally said my boyfriend did it. In spite of intimidation, im not sure. He is innocent though. Not only that but the police did NOT read my boyfriend his rights, and they did not tell him what he was going to jail for either. They just threw him in the car and left. It wasnt until he was being processed what he found out what he was arrested for.. I would like to sue actually. Do you think I have a chance in court? & if so how do I go about getting started. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
