my 12 year old daughter was murdered in 1983. the state has lost the rape evidence that convicted the killer. my question is, after all this time can evidence of rape ie. sperm still be detected if exhumed? we did not use a vault. thank you.

I'm afraid that this is impossible. Twenty-one years after burial, in a warm climate like Alabama's, your daughter's remains are likely to be skeletal.

Sue is probably correct, however.......
The technology involved in DNA recovery/testing is very dynamic and cutting edge. I would reccommend you contact your state forensic pathology lab and discuss it with them. Good luck.........Joe
