Question

I have a Denon AVR 1601 Surround Sound unit and when I turn the power on, withing a few seconds it goes into stand by mode. Can you help me figure out why this is happening? Thank you.

Hi XXXXXXX,

Sounds more like it's in protection mode and shutting itself down for to try to protect the system.

Double check all your speaker connections and cabling for any loose wires that may be touching the casing.

If everything is ok then you could try a processor reset which involves holding down the AUTO and PCM buttons down on the front panel whilst turning the power on. Hold them for a few seconds and the display will flash. Let them go and you'll have reset everthing to the factory defaults.

I want to ensure you understand this will reset everything back to the factory settings so you'll have to re-input all your speaker distances, channel levels etc
