My mother cut my cat's whiskers, I want to know if this harmful to my cat.
What are their whiskers used for?

Answer

Yes this can be a problem for a cat though they can adjust to it.
Whiskers appear to be used as sensory organs to help figure distance and width when the cat is moving around and going through openings etc.

They will grow back eventually. Cats shed whiskers so they do without them some of the time quite naturally.
