i have some data
A) Charle's Law
Data:      Volume - Temperature Pairs
          8.9cm       30c
          9.1cm       40c
          9.2cm       50c
          9.5cm       60c
          9.65cm      70c
          9.8cm       80c
I have to graph them and Least Sqaure calculations T (degrees centigrade) at absolute zero.
in order to do that, i have to prepare a graph in which i polot V against T in Celcius degree. This plot should show a linear relationship of the form V=aT +b. Use the least squares method to find the slope (a) and the y intercept (b) for this equation. Absolute zero on the Celcius scale will be the temperature at which V falls to zero: this temperature can be found by using the equation
   T of absolute zero in celcius degree = -b/a

I have your graph, but I can no longer insert it here as the maximum image size has been cut from 200K to 25k(!).  That is totally nuts, so I'll enquire with the JA management.  If you supply an email address I can send it to you that way.

Your equation is V = 0.0184T + 8.3448, and when it is applied to calculate absolute zero, the answer is -453 °.  This is clearly nonsense, since the figure should be about -273°.  It is however very close to the value for absolute zero in Fahrenheit (-459 °).  Have you got your temperature scales right?
