Question
my husband has had stabbing foot pain for 5 years... finally after 6 MRIs a mass was found. it was removed 2 weeks ago. the doc went in on the bottom of his foot, a 6 inch incision. they removed a mass that looked like a pearl onion with a nerve coming out both ends. he is still getting the stabbing foot pain and it is worse than before, is this normal?
he is still non weight bearing, but his foot is swollen and bruised still.

Already Tried:
pain pills, pt, nerve blocks, failed uncessary tarsal tunnel surgery and now a mass removed
Answer
He had a neuroma removed. The foot pain that he has now is normal post surgical pain. It will go away with the passage of time. He will probably have some numbness in the area served by the operated nerve after he heals up.
