Question

Five years ago I received a jungle cactus. This is the first year that it has truly bloomed in all ir's glory. 40 buds were counted. About a dozen buds about 1" long fell off. The remaining have gorgeous deep rose colored blossoms up to 5" in diameter. It is still in it's original container as I was advised that it liked to be root bound.
What am I doing wrong.? It is kept in the basement during winter in Michigan and watered rarely. Please help me with your good advice. Thanking you in advance, Faye Chauvette. Email address is XXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX

Hello Faymay,

I would suggest transplanting it into a bigger pot. Yes they need to be root bound. I would water it maybe once every 2 weeks. It sounds like you are doing a descent job with the way it bloomed this year. Below you will find a link on specific growing tips for the Jungle Cactus along with some other.

Was my $5.00 payment for your info on my Jungle Cactus accepted by the Visa Card # sent after the 8670 was rejected. I believe that # was replaced when my Credit Card went Platinum.
One question: How did you come up with the first numbers? To the best of my recollection I have never emailed this site for any earlier info or given out my credit card number. Please advise me in a return email.
Thank you again. Your info covered my inquiries fully and understandable. One more question; why did so many buds fall off before blooming? Faye

Answer

Hello,

No the answer is still open which means the credit card was not ran thru. I do not know how the payments go for the website. I believe you can also pay by using Paypal. You can sign up for a free paypal account on www.paypal.com and enter your credit card info their. Then you can return to this website and submit payment using paypal.

Please let me know if their is anything else i can do. Any bonus or feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James
