Question

E4OD Transmission/1990-F-150

stays in low foreward gear all the time even in park position.
When I first bought the truck it seemed to be pulling against itself, for only a few miles.then started slipping-I put some LUCAS in it and for maybe 20 miles got good results.I've tinkered with the ole thing a little, but know it's hung up in drive. Does any of that sound familuar? What yens rewcons wrong with it? Or should I just shoot er' ?

Optional Information

Answer

When the trans is hung up in one gear, it is an indication of a clutch failure to the point that it cannot release one of its driven componets. In other words, there is an internal problem with the trans which will need to be either overhauled or replaced.
