Question

What is the procedure to remove an abandoned manufactured home from our property? We sold it to Howard Barr with a signed agreement that it was to be moved over a year ago and it is still on the lot. It is paid in full and we have no contact information for him.
The property is located at 11783 Park Forest Trace, Duncanville, AL.
Can it be re-sold after a public notice? And is there a form to submit a public notice to the local newspaper?

All you are required to do is run a notice in the newspaper for 3 consecutive weeks asking that he claim the property or it will be removed and/or sold. If you have no contact information for him, you must send a certified or registered letter (this way you have proof that you sent it and proof if he signs for it) to his last known address and wait 30 days for him to respond (make sure that is in the letter). If you get no response from the newspaper ad or the written letter then you can remove the home by selling it again and or whatever other means necessary. There is really no "form" to submit to the paper, simple state that "This is a notice to Howard Barr in reference to property located at 11783 Park Forest Trace, Duncanville, AL. If this property is not claimed and/or moved by (whatever date), it will be sold to another buyer and you will forfeit your rights to the home. Contact (your name) at (your number) by (whatever date)." Or something similar to that. This will cover you and should he come to claim the property after the date you set, he will no longer have a claim to it.
