Howmuch volume do i need to mix with the permanent black hair-dye?

when u dye your hair with permanent hair color, u need a tube of volume to mix with it or else it wont turn to the color u want it.

What kind of hair dye are you using, most store brands don't require you to add anything. Do the directions tell you to add the volume ?
