Info Request

What was the appearance of the old fluid was it bright red or digy and dark. Did it have an odor. Did the vehicle have any concerns before the service.

Info Request

Did the transmission work fine before the transmission was serviced. I assume the deer did frontal damage and messed up a cooler line???

Reply to Chris (Moose)'s Post: YES TRANSMISSION WORKED FINE, THE ONLY DAMAGE IT DID WAS THE AC RADIATOR, AND THE MAIN RADIATOR, WINDSHIELD, AND AIRBAGS

Answer

OK you need to verify the fluid level is set to the correct height. If the vehicle was driven low on fluid then this could of casused the forward clutch to burn up. If the fluid was dingy then when the new fluid was exchanged in then there has been subtle problems with the trans unknown. So when the fluid was changed the problem got worse because the transmission was surviving off the previous fluid that had some grit to it. The first step is to have the computer scanned for codes then install a pressure gauge on the line port and see if the fluid pressure is low.

Reply to Chris (Moose)'s Post: I was informed that the fluid had leaked out of the transmission line, and that my husband had to put a new one on. Does that mean that he needs to put all brand new fluids in? Maybe the car did not have enough fluids?

Answer

It does not need new fluid. It needs to be set to the correct height. If it still fails then there is damage to the trans.
