Question

I am taking my two cats to Germany in August. Someone told me about the Rabies Titer test that takes 6 months to receive results. Do I need to have my cats tested for this before we leave? If I don't have this test done will my cats be able to go? we are a military family, and are getting very anxious since receiving this info!

You would need to contact the country that you are going to and find out what their requirements are for entering with pets. Each is different as to what they want. Your vet will most likely have to do a health check so you can get a health certificate for each pet. Some countries also require mandatory quarantine when entering regardless of vaccine status so you need to find out about that. The rabies titers don't take that long but the timing is critical for having them done. The vaccine has to be done within a certain amount of time then the titer has to be done after. The scheduling varies a little by country. It is a long drawn out process so getting started now to make sure that you have everything ready is a must.
