Hello, and welcome to Just Answer!

DVDs and players are coded for 6 different regions. The United States is Region 1, so DVD players sold in the US can only play Region 1 DVDs, and likewise DVDs purchased in the US will only be able to play on US purchased DVD players.

All DVDs should be labeled on the package what region it is made for.

Here is a website explaining the different region codes.

If your player was purchased in Europe, then it will only be able to play Region 2 DVDs. You have stated the DVD you have is a Region 1 DVD, so that DVD will only be able to play on a US purchased player.

There is no code to enter.
