want to play a dvd on my dvd player asking for region code

Hello, and welcome to Just Answer!

DVDs and players are coded for 6 different regions. The United States is Region 1, so DVD players sold in the US can only play Region 1 DVDs, and likewise DVDs purchased in the US will only be able to play on US purchased DVD players.

All DVDs should be labeled on the package what region it is made for.

Here is a website explaining the different region codes.
