What you are referring to is the Stegosaurids. It was thought that they had a second brain in the base of their tail. It is now believed that it was actually a collection of nerves, which may have controlled the tail and back legs. This wasn't a second brain though, in the same way that you and I think about brains.

Are you sure about this because I am a first grade teacher who told my students about the two brain theory and was bashed by a parent for it. I want to make sure there is no evidence that says there were two brains. I read about this, but I don't remember how long ago it was. Why do I remember it having two brains??? Where can I find more evidence to support this?

Yes, I am sure! You probably remember the two brains thing because paleontologists used to believe it had two brains. The one in the tail was much larger than the one in the head (up to 20 times). But now it is believed that it was simply nerves and fatty tissue.

I don't do too many. Mostly just Homework and General questions. We have some Experts in the Pet/Legal/Auto categories that do 50-60 a day though.
