How old is she?
has she ever been tested for herpes?
do you know what the medication she had was called?
are you saying she never had any mucus until after the vents were cleaned?
Thanks,
Terri
Dear friend,
Please stand by while I type detailed answer regarding your baby.
Can you please tell me what she eats?
Persians especially those with the brachycephalic (pushed in) face have very short, narrow nasal passages. They are also quite sensitive to any airesol products, cleaners, powders, etc.
Even though Oxine is not poisonous, it may have burned her nasal passages or sinus's She may also have a fungal or bacterial infecion. Usually any green mucus indicates a bacteria or fungal infection. Since she throws up from antibiotics she may need a repeat dose of the cream. You can also put l-lycine in her water once a day.Add 125 mg to a half gallon of bottled water and pour it in her bowl throughout the day. After 12 hours discard it and make a new batch.
You may also any to consider a hepa filter that will take all the impurities out of the air for her.
If your vet is unable to ascertain - via cytology - if the bacteria is fungal or bacterial (because the meds are different) Have her seen by by a vet that specializes in ear, nose and throat. Since she did not have this prior to the cleaning incident it is not congenital and should be able to be treated so your baby gets some relief.
Please let me know if you still ave questions or wish to discuss this further. I am happy to help.
Very sincerely,
