How old is Ruddi?
Does he ever chew non food items?
Dear Jaye,
It is possible for cats to have asthma. Since you are familiar with this illness, you know there are usually triggers that bring on an attack. If Ruddi is eating food that contains any corn or gluten, these grains may be the cause.Try him on a natural food with no fillers. You can see many here:

You can also feed boiled chicken or fish or human baby meat with no onion or garlic.

Some vets have had success putting these cats a raw diet.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss anything further and how your boy is doing. I am happy to help.
Very sincerely,
