Question

My cat, Ruddi, has been having coughing fits and somethimes labored breathing. the vet suspects it may be asthma. She is treating him with antibiotics and prednisone. He is not improving much. I am an asthmatic. Are they any better treatments for him?

Does he ever chew non food items?

Hi is four and came from a shelter. He did get the normal shots.
NO he doesn't chew on non food items

Dear Jaye,

It is possible for cats to have asthma. Since you are familiar with this illness, you know there are usually triggers that bring on an attack.If Ruddi is eating food that contains any corn or gluten, these grains may be the cause.Try him on a natural food with no fillers. You can see many here:

You can also feed boiled chicken or fish or human baby meat with no onion or garlic.

Some vets have had success putting these cats a raw diet.
