Question

My tilt/trim on my bass boat does not indicate

Sent to General Experts March 16, 2007 4:36 p.m.

My tilt/trim on my bass boat does not indicate correctly. It is at the top of the indicator and when I trim the 225 Yamaha down, the indicator only moves a very small bit. How can I adjust it to the middle of the indicator when my motor is level so that when I lower the motor the trim indicator will move down accordingly.

The answer does not provide information on how to adjust the trim indicator switch. I sent an email to Steve Creel at Boat Digest and will see what he says. If he tells me how to adjust the indicator, I will then accept the answer. Until I get the correct response, then please keep the question posted for a correct response.

I need to adjust the indicator in the counsel. How do I adjust the needle in the counsel so it corresponds with the motor. High in the up position, center in Nutural and Low in the low position. My indicator is stuck on high.

I can call and take my boat to several dealers and pay $68.00 an hour plus my time to load the boat, take it to the dealer, leave it for repair and pick it up several days to several weeks later. I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT. I would like for someone to tell me how to adjust the tilt/trim to it reads correctly on my dash. Someone with some basic mechanical knowledge about tilt/trim adjustments. It only   takes a few minutes, so I am told. The answers so far tell me how to run the boat using the tilt/trim. I know how to drive the boat and how to raise and lower the trim. I need to adjust the indicator in my dash so it reads correctly.

I did send an email to Steve Creel and to iboat and to another dealer but no response as yet. Someone out there knows how to adjust the indicator to match the boat tilt/trim. If no replies or response by 1 April then I will cancel the question and let you refund the $15.00. Thanks

Everybody tells me how to adjust the tilt/trim but not the tilt/trim indicator on the dash. I do know how to raise and lower the motor, I do know how to drive the boat using the tilt/trim. I do not know how to adjust the tilt/trim indicator in the dash so that it reads correctly. When I lower the motor the tilt/trim indicator should read low. It does not, it reads high. How do I adjust the tilt trim indicator so it indicated the correct motor adjustment.
