I have painted an original piece of art that everyone seems to love - customers are asking for it. Can I just recreate/paint new originals that are very similar to this one and sell them as originals with the same name? How does that work? Is that what a limited edition is?

I found a site http://www.bewareofart.com/journal/2001/10/05.htm that says in essence "If I did a painting and then produced prints depicting my painting, these would be reproductions." and "When an edition is limited, it means only a certain number of prints will ever be produced, whether they're originals or not." If you have more questions that site had a lot of info. Hope this helps!
