Answer
Hopefully it has just started to do it, otherwise it may be stuck for good. You will probably have luck if you gently try turning the key back and forth while tapping on the key with a small hammer or similar object. Be patient. It can take dozens of tries to get it to go. This is preferable to drilling out the lock cylinder. Ford has updated the lock cylinder due to this problem. You should replace the cylinder with a new one from a Ford dealer. With the column shroud removed and the key in the first position (accessory) there is a button under where the cylinder lies in the steering column. With a pointed tool you can depress the button and remove the cylinder. The new cylinder needs to be matched to your key and assembled. You may want to leave this job to the dealer.
