Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy),

It really depends where you're from, where exactly you are going and the method of travel you chose.

That being said, dogs and other pets are generally very well accepted:

If you're traveling by plane, you can definitively book a place for your dog. Most airlines charge a special fee for this and some require immunization records. All airlines also require a travel cage for your pet and or a muzzle.

Edit: just noticed you were traveling by boat. - The same rules apply, and it usually costs anywhere from $30 to $90 depending on the carrier.

If you'd like me to quote you different carriers and prices, I will be happy to do so, just let me know

Hope this helps!
Patrick

I know how to get to Europe with my dog on a plane. That's not my question.
Can we get there as passengers on a cargo ship?

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy),

There are special companies that specialize in shipping pets worldwide. The following link has a search-able database of different companies in specific locations.

Again, the cost is usually between $30 and $90 US (plus your travel costs) if you're brining your pet with you. If you're just shipping your pet alone, the cost can be anywhere from $100 to $350 depending on size, special needs, etc

Only a few passenger ships will allow you to take your pet with you:

For cargo ships, they will take your pet in one of their kennel spaces, but will not allow you to travel aboard with him/her.

I haven't been able to find a cargo ship that allows both passengers and pets. - Your best bet would be a passenger cruise ship like the QE2.

Hope this helps!
