I have just found a patch of baldness in my hair it is small and round with no new hair growing. It has obviously just dropped out. It is just back from my front hairline but under my hair as it is parted in that direction hence why I havent noticed it before. It is about 2cm round.

It sounds like ringworm. Many times it eill settle in your scalp and just like you said shows up in a circular patch of missing hair.
