I don't know if I am the right place, but I have a question. I have a 7 year old daughter, and she said her gums hurt in her mouth, and I was wondering, what age does molders come in?

Dear XXXXXXXXXX,

The first permanent molars usually erupt on average at 6 years of age, behind the primary (baby) teeth. (The exact age of eruption can vary.)

At 7 years of age, your daughter's incisors (front teeth) are probably beginning to erupt as well, or will erupt soon in the future. All this activity can contribute to gum soreness, and is probably the cause of your daughter's complaint.

Usually, the eruption of the permanent teeth or the exfoliation of the primary teeth don't cause severe pain, but you can use children's Tylenol as needed.
