1. There is 3 phase 480v 100amp line running overhead to a transformer. Can I set a junction box and pull a line No. 12 wire off of the above to a fused 20 amp safety switch which will operate a 3p 480v 2.5amp saw?

My husband is an electrician so I had to check with the pro on this one.  His response is below:

 "Yes, you can, but you need put 5 amp fuses in the safety switch.  You will only pull 5 amps from the 480 so this should more than protect the #12 wire."
