Question

My five year old black and tan coonhound has a lump under her right front "armpit" area. It developed sometime within the last six months or so. It is completely under her skin, and sort of moves around a little when you touch it. It does not seem cause her any discomfort, and there is no visible irritation. Is this somehting I should be worried about?

I would go ahead and give your vet a call about this lump. It is in the area of one of the lymphnodes, so it could be a swollen node, or it could be a fatty tumor just in that area, but it should be checked out and even possibly sampled and biopsied if your vet recommends it. Better safe than sorry when it comes to lumps :) Good luck with your baby :)
