Question

My dog is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi male. He has recurring bumps on his skin. They dry up and then come off when scratched. However, they seem to be appearing more frequently. Right now he has two. One is a little smaller than a dime. Would this make him grumpy? He has always been a real friendly dog.

This type of lesion is typical of a bacterial infection onthe skin. YOU can try bathing frequently (tice a week) with an antibacterial shampoo or you can ask your vet for antibiotics. Often dogs get these infections secondary to some type of allergic reaction to something.

This lesion when it comes off is not like a scab but more like you are removing something that is also below the skin. It looks teardrop shaped. Does this sound like what you are talking about. Could this be skin cancer?

Answer

On the internet, I cannot be exactly sure what this is, but if it was some type of growth, it probably would not dry up and fall off. A pustule, however, will do this. To be sure, your vet should look at these lesions.
