I do not accept this answer, we have pursued that as much as possible. Even though he's totally disabled (he can use his left hand a little, and can use voice activated software for the computer) He can recieve only 25 hours per week of services. He is on a waiting list for possibly more services. He is 20 years old and very intelligent. Cerebral Palsy has kept him from being what he wishes to be. We have built a brand new house for him to give him some independence away from me (Mom) and Dad. We are looking for three people to take turns with him in the late afternoons and evenings. We have one person who is great. We also have a wonderful person who is paid to take care of him during most of the day. We are looking for two more dependable people. We are providing a very nice place to live. Each person has his or her own bedroom and will share a small sitting room, bathroom and back porch with one other person. In addition each person has total access to a huge kitchen and great room and the huge back porch. We also are providing food, and utilities. We have 25 acres here with a 3 acre pond. Each care-giver will have fishing priviledges as well.
We have advertised in the local papers and most of the people who have applied are smokers, or unable to do the job for one reason or another.
I am really looking for a way of finding two more dependable people. Maybe a web site for posting positions such as this.
We are located in the Athens, GA area. 10 minutes away from the University of Georgia.
The person we are looking for could be a student (Yes, I have posted notices at the Career Center at UGA) or someone who works during the day. It could be a person with a teen age son.
My son is very intelligent, goes to Athens Tech, plays video and computer games, listens to books on tape (he can't turn the pages) and wants to be as normal as possible.

I live about 10 minutes away from the University of Georgia. We are near Athens, Georgia. Did you read my reply to the other person or do you all work totally seperately?
What we're doing is unique. I have someone who works with my son during the day. We have built a brand new huge beautiful house with three sections. We are offering free rent, free food, and free utilities plus other amenities in exchange for taking care of my 20 year old, very intelligent son who has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair just two or three evenings a week. We are looking for two more caring, dependable people. Each person will have their own room and will share a sitting room, a back porch and a bathroom with one other person. We could even have a couple, or a person with a teenage son. Everyone will have total access to the huge kitchen and great room and big back porch. The house is located on 25 beautiful acres with a 4 acre lake stocked with fish. The person we hire does not need to be a nurse, he or she needs a day time job or can be a graduate student or mature undergraduate student. This is a great opportunity for the right person.
We have placed ads in regular local newspapers but we're not getting people who can actually lift him, or drive the van, or who are smokers, or need accessability to a bus route.
