Answer

Good question!
Normal blood pressue is 120/80 for an adult , but many things can cause your Blood Pressue (BP) to go up and down on a short term basis.
There is a condition called "White Coat Hypertension", in which a person's pressure is increased whenever they are in a doctor's ofice (the White Coat), but is normal at other times.

The best thing to do is to take your blood pressure many times, and keep a diary/notebook about what was going on at the time..(kids/job/spouse/etc).....a trend of hight blood pressue is more important than a single reading...you should always measue the pressure in the same arm, and with the same machine, so that you are sure things are "the same".

Once in a while, you should measure your BP in both arms.
If there is a big difference between the righ and left arms, this needs to be reported to your doctor.

Normal heart rate is 72-80 beats per minute, depending on your age and level of fitness
Hope this helps, if not please let me know!.
