Reply to Wayne Brasch's Post: I know that the constitution gives him the option to take full control of the military but he is not one of the two presidents who have taken this option. Would you still consider him a military leader?

I don't think many of the U. S. Presidents actually knew very much about military matters except maybe George Washington and Dwight Eisenhower since they were military men themselves. The rest of them, I believe, have used their Constitutional powers only along with taking into consideration what their military advisors have given them.
