Answer

Shouldn't you start with the principal, then the superintendent? Assumng that you have spoken with the teacher himself...

Answer

Dear XXXXXXXXX,

Go up the chain of command.  Start with the teacher's department head.  If you don't know that information, then go to the principal.  Document what was said and on what date and what ever witnesses observed this verbal abuse (maybe this teacher has a history of such behavior).  Bring this information to the principal and then ask him/her what steps he/she is going to implement to make sure that this situation does not happen to your child again (whether that is suspending the teacher or moving your child out of the room while an investigation is underway).

If you are unhappy with the solutions that the principal comes up with, then it is your right to go over his head to the superintendent.  Throughout this whole process, continue to document what is said or promised and the dates upon which this occurred.  This just gives your claims validity when you do bring your case to the superintendent.

If he/she doesn't resolve your problem, then take your complaint to the school board.  If they won't help you, then you might need to consult an attorney.  You could also get in touch with the local library or newspaper, tell them about your problem, and ask if they have any other suggestions for you.

Hope that helps.

Answer

Greetings:

I'm sorry about what happened to your child. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

You need to take your child to his/her psychologist/doctor in order to be examined and to have this incident properly documented.

You will also need to consult with the principal of the school and let him/her know that you want the matter looked into immediately - for the principal to deal with the teacher to make certain this doesn't happen again. You can also ask them to monitor your child so you will know he is okay.

If the teacher's abuse has lead to psychological trauma of your child (for which you would need documented proof from your child's doctor), then you may wish to consult with a personal injury attorney to file a claim/suit against the teacher/school.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Bright Blessings.

Peace, Love & Happiness,
