is there an over the counter cure for worms that i can give to my 5 cats and also my chihuahua or do i have to go to the vet

There are over the counter dewormers but they will not be effective unless you know what kind of worms you are treating. Different wormers work for different worms. Tape worms, round worms, hook worms, etc all might need to be treated differently.

I suggest that you take a fecal sample in to your vet for analysis.
