Question

I just barely have my baby girl and she's 2 week old almost 3 week old. I'm confused on what kind of formula to feed her. I start out feeding her Enfamil Lipil with Iron Liquid concentrate formula from the Hospital and when we came back home, she seem to be taking it in pretty good, she gain alot of more weight and got bigger but i'm not sure if her pooing is coming out right with Liquid concentrate formula
Her amount of poo is very small, look kind of dry and seedy looking. So i changed it to Parent's Choice the purple labal Liquid concentrate formula but she didn't poo that often as she's support to so i change it back to the Enfamil Lipil with Iron Liquid concentrate formula than of course she poo more often but very little amount, kind of dry and seedy looking again. And just yesterday and today i try the Enfamil Lipil with Iron powder and today she haven't poo at all.Help me i'm confused let me know if her poo is coming out right 4 a new born and if i'm feeding her the right brand.

Answer

Hello friend, thankyou for your question.

I do understand you are trying really hard to make a perfect world for your precious baby girl. And I think that's terrific!

The formula you should stay with is the one that lets your little girl "poo" or have bowel movements with little strain and discomfort and without spitting up alot.

Sometimes the formula used is one like The Parent's Choice,Purple as you have used because it's kind to baby.

If baby is not having a difficult time with her bowel movements it's best to not change again. Let baby adjust and if you need to add a little dark karo syrup(like a tsp.at first, shake well, then warm to room temp) and this may help if you feel she is having constipation.

Changing too much can really upset a tummy and cause baby to be up when baby should be sleeping.

If you feel you'd like your baby's dr. opinion give them a call..they will help you over the phone!
