Question

I recently left my house and moved into a new one my old house has fleas in it and the heat isnt on there so the house is very cold. Is there any chance they will die in there because of the temp. being so low?

Answer

Hello. No, they will not die. They will only go dormant until it warms up, and/or until the next warm body comes by they can use for a meal. Since the house is empty, your solution is easy. Go to your local home improvement store like Lowes or Home Depot and get the foggers. How many you need is based mostly on square footage but it usually works out to be one fogger per room of any size. Small rooms like bathrooms and closets will be treated by leaving the doors to them open. Be sure to consider attics, basements or crawl spaces also if you have them. The directions will be right on the package to guide you for how many you need. Fogging a house while currently living it in can be huge pain in the back side but for an empty house, piece of cake! Get your foggers, set one in each room (on a piece of newspaper to protect the floor), set them off and leave. Don't come back any sooner than 4 hours. That should rid the house of all fleas. If you want to be on the safe side, it can be fogged again just prior to anyone moving back into it. Hope this helps. Let us know if you need anything else. Patricia
