80's Horror movie

I am looking for a horror movie made in the 80's I thought it was Scarecrow or it has to do with a scarecrow. What I can remember, there was a retarded man living with his mother on a farm and he hid in a scarecrow, well someone thought he murdered his friend so they killed him while he was in the scarecrow, that is about all I can remember because I was young when I saw it, I am wanting to find it because it was the first horror movie I ever saw and it scared me to death. Please if you can help I would greatly appericate it, I want to buy it so my son and I can watch it. Thank you
