Question

I feed the wild birds and now after going out near the feeder I feel like I am being bit by something. But can not see anything. Do you have any ideas as to what this maybe? I keep the area clean with bleach and pine-sol.

Reply to Rsposta4u's Post: my location is Salt Lake City, Utah. It started this summer. It gets worse with moisture. I have feed the birds for 10 years now. This is the first year experiencing anything, besides pleasure from watching them. It gives me the willies. I scratch and slap alot. In August I started having bowel and intestinal issues. I am steal being treatedby a MD. They do not seem to listen to me regarding feeling like I am being bit by something. They only ask if I have recently been outside the USA.

Reply to Rsposta4u's Post: We have a swimming pool 200 feet away with water on the cover. It only seems to happen when I come back from near the feeder. The terminator has been on site and sprayed 3 times this summer. I live in a apartment on the 3rd floor nand am the only US citizen. Some illegals from Mexico moved into the 2 apartments below me about the same time this started happening.

Answer

I have had similar problems and my doctor has suggested it is related to an allergic reaction. I would try and think if any additional plantings have been added near the location. At times I feel like something is crawling on me, but I can not see a thing. I do get bumps that look like they are from an insect and the more I itch them the more I get. I am not saying this is the case with you but since it occurs using deet it well may be the problem. I have found it helps to wear long pants and long sleeves. It sounds like you have covered all bases. I guess it could be something introduced by the tenants but I don't have a clue as to what it might be. Not being able to see the insects and to identify them it would be hard to make any more suggestions as to what to do. I will gladly answer any addition questions you may have.
