I dyed my hair black and hate it. How do I get it to a medium brown again?

Unfortunately these things happen ;0)

Unfortunately stripping permanent color from your hair is not something to be taken lightly. There are strippers you can purchase but I STRONGLY recommend you do not use them as they commonly cause damage to your hair in the form of striped proteins, dry out, and even hair loss.

My recommendation would be to go to a salon. They have products that can safely strip the hair or lighten it without causing the trauma you do not want. Hair stripping can be quite damaging if not done right for this reason the strippers are not routinely sold in normal stores. If you decide to go this route you would have to go to a hair salon store to purchase the stripper.

If you can not go to the hair salon to have a color expert remove the black dye, then it is important to go to a beauty supply store such as Sally's. Explain to the consultant precisely what type of products you have used to achieve the black color. Let them examine your hair and then show you precisely what to purchase and precisely how to use them.

This is very important as you do not want to damage your hair, creating breakage, dryness and split ends. You may also achieve a brassy, unflattering shade of orange if you use peroxide, ammonia or bleach products improperly.
