I noticed where the spout meets the base there is a crack that it leaks water. Enough that you can't leave water in the kettle or you will ruin your stove. However, The crack is almost not noticable so it must be thin and in the seam where the spout meets the rons kettle. I was afraid to try something that may cause a fire or more damage.

I believe it is a 2-1/2-quart, high-polish, stainless-steel kettle. If this helpe you visualize here is a link to what it actually looks like. http://www.amazon.com/Kamenstein-Design-Motion-Steam-Driven-Carousel/dp/B00004SGDG

This is a shiny-bright, carousel-themed kettle with painted ponies that gallop 'round and 'round. The prancing ponies are powered by a steam feature from the boiling water, which lets you know when the water is hot. The 2-1/2-quart kettle comes with a small plug to seal the spout and is made of enamel over steel construction in primary colors, with the flat, metal ponies painted with saddles and bridles just like old-fashioned carousel horses.

Does this help?

Thanks for the additional information it was very helpful. There is a product called JB Weld that will repair your teapot. It should be applied on the inside surface to keep from the repair being visible. Once applied, and before it hardens it can be smoothed with a wet finger. This is a 2 part epoxy that I have used for such repairs before. I repaired a old teakettle my mother used until a hole developed in the bottom. I applied JB Weld to it over 7 years ago and the kettle still sits on her stove with water in it ever since the repair was made. The only disadvantage in using it is if you were to leave the pot on the burner on high with no liquid in the pot, the JB Weld may have to be replaced. Even though it is not recommended for temperatures over 500 degrees I have used it on exhaust manifolds on engines and they get much hotter than 500 degrees. After the epoxy hardens it is food safe. Follow the directions on the package. JB Weld can be purchased in the automotive section of Walmart and in many hardware and automotive stores.
