Claim: µ not= 230; Other values: x(bar) = 221.5; n = 36; and s = 17.3

Hello,

Using a TI-83 plus to do the t-test (since the population standard deviation is not known), I arrive at the P-value .005663...

Since this number is smaller than .05, you reject the null hypothesis and you have statistical proof that µ is different from 230.
